That was 3rd of December, 2006. The SSEAYP program went a head to the end of the program along with a NipponMaru ship under the Atlantic sea. It was a very big ship; there were more than 3 hundred people on it.
It was around 8 at night and there were thousands of stars with a big moon at the night sky. The weather was very cold, but most people were not slept at all. They were singing, drinking, and walking around the ship, because it was the last day on NipponMaru.
Even though, the weather was very cold but people still prefer to go out than to stay in their room. They took big cloths and enjoyed with the cold wind by walking in and out, from path to path of the ship to get the fresh air and enjoy as much as possible with the weather.
Among of them was me. Just like other friends, I had to spend my time to enjoy every moment on the ship. That was a very great time with happiness. I could see all the smiling face of my friends. Guess what? For this great moment, we decide to take some photos for our great memory (8:09 pm).
On 9:02 pm, we were in a tiny room talking, eating, drinking with each other and it was the last meeting on the ship as well. At once, I heard a sound from a guitar. It was playing by a friend and then the sound of people’s singing continued, that was the song called 'Khmer Chouy Khmer'. While singing the song, I can see the tear of some friends were falling down.
That is so funny; the song can touch the people’s heart. However, the last day on NipponMaru were kept a lot of meaning inside. I believe that this will make us smile whenever we remind about it.
(to be continue...)
